The Organisation
Gramin Evam Nagar Vikas Parishad (GENVP) was established on 14 November 1984 with a simple but powerful vision — to create a platform where communities can come together, discuss the challenges they face, and take meaningful action towards a better future.
Founded by a group of like-minded and socially committed individuals, GENVP began its journey with a strong belief that real development happens when people are not just beneficiaries, but active participants in shaping their own future. From the beginning, the organization has worked to involve both rural and urban communities in development initiatives that improve their lives and strengthen their voices.
Inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan, GENVP believes that sustainable development starts from within the community. When people are empowered, informed, and given the opportunity to participate, they can become the strongest drivers of positive change.
Over the years, GENVP has remained committed to empowering women, youth, and Dalit communities, particularly in villages and underserved areas. We believe these communities have the strength and potential to become powerful agents of social change. By supporting their voices, opportunities, and leadership, we aim to build more inclusive, equal, and empowered communities where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and hope.
