1. Engaging Champions to Improve Family Planning Services

GENVP worked with CSO partners across 15 districts of Bihar to improve access to accurate family planning information and services. The project focused on training community champions, addressing myths and misconceptions, promoting healthy spacing between pregnancies, and encouraging informed family planning choices.
2. Re-vitalizing Teen Clubs

Working in Gaya and Purnea, this initiative supported out-of-school adolescents aged 15–19. Young people were encouraged to understand their aspirations, develop life skills, learn about reproductive health, build healthy relationships, and challenge discrimination related to gender and sexuality. Career guidance and community activities helped young people become more confident and active in their communities.
3. VIHHAN – RCC4 Phase II

2014–2017 | HIV/AIDS | NCPI+ / India HIV/AIDS Alliance / GFATM / Plan International

The project supported people living with HIV by helping them connect with care, treatment, and support services. It also focused on treatment adherence, social protection, community support, and reducing the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV.
4. Link Worker Scheme

GENVP worked to reach communities and groups that were often difficult to reach with HIV prevention and support services. Local supervisors, link workers, and volunteers were trained on HIV/AIDS, gender, sexuality, and STIs, while also helping vulnerable populations connect with appropriate services and information.
5. Dalit Community to Become Health Conscious

This initiative focused on improving health awareness among Dalit communities, particularly around safe drinking water, sanitation, hygiene, and healthy practices.
6. Parivartan – Empowering Communities for Better Health

Through Parivartan, GENVP worked directly with villages to build stronger community groups and local leadership. The project encouraged community participation in health and sanitation activities and strengthened coordination between communities, government institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

7. Improving Family Planning Services

The project worked across Gaya, Jehanabad, Patna, Nalanda, and Nawada to strengthen family planning services and encourage better planning and allocation of resources for quality healthcare.
8. Improving Sexual & Reproductive Health of Young People

This initiative focused on reducing early marriage and early pregnancy among young people. GENVP worked with communities, government stakeholders, NGOs, and the media to promote awareness about the appropriate age of marriage, delayed first pregnancy, and young people's reproductive and sexual health rights.
9. Girls First

Girls First supported adolescent girls and young women with knowledge, skills, and support to strengthen their emotional resilience, physical health, sexual and reproductive health, and educational outcomes. The initiative reached girls in rural and tribal communities through schools and community-based interventions.
10. Beti Bachao

GENVP supported grassroots campaigns to address the declining child sex ratio and promote stronger implementation of the PCPNDT Act. The project combined community awareness, capacity building, advocacy, networking, and action research.
11. Bitiya Bachao Abhiyan

The initiative focused on mobilizing communities and encouraging people-led action to prevent sex selection and promote the value, dignity, and rights of the girl child.
12. PATH Convergence Project

GENVP worked to strengthen the capacity of healthcare and reproductive health service providers so they could offer more inclusive, stigma-free, and quality services to people living with HIV and communities at greater risk. The project also focused on creating greater awareness and demand for reproductive health services.
13. Advocacy on Safe Abortion

Working across Muzaffarpur, Nawada, and Patna, GENVP supported community and district-level advocacy around safe abortion services. The initiative explored women's experiences and needs, assessed the availability of services, and used community consultations and awareness materials to encourage better access to safe and informed healthcare.
14. Immunization & Medical Check-ups for 300 Children

GENVP organized health camps for children from economically disadvantaged communities in primary schools, providing immunization and basic medical check-ups.
15. HIV/AIDS & STD Prevention Among Truckers

The project focused on raising awareness among truckers in Bihar about HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, prevention, and safer health practices, helping an important mobile population access relevant information and support.

PRACHAR focused on young people aged 10–24 years, providing information and support around reproductive health, family planning, and the prevention of child marriage.
17. Behaviour Change Communication

GENVP worked with Panchayati Raj representatives, stakeholders, SHG leaders, and community coordinators to promote healthier practices such as breastfeeding, handwashing, safe drinking water, and improved sanitation.

This long-term initiative focused on improving the health and survival of mothers and children through nutrition support, immunization, antenatal care, and postnatal care, with particular attention to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and young children.
